Baseball Caps
While the exact origins of baseball are unknown, most historians agree that it is based on the English game of rounders. A Google search suggests that the first recorded baseball contest took place in 1846 and the first baseball team, the Knickerbockers, wore straw hats. Over the next 20 years or so the teams wore many different styles of caps including jockey caps but in 1860, the Brooklyn Excelsiors wore a cap that's a forerunner of today's 5 and 6 panel baseball caps with large visors. As for wearing baseball caps backwards: Catchers wore their caps backward so the visor didn't interfere with their protective mask. If the United States has a national hat it is probably the baseball cap.
Baseball caps are more usually associated with hot, sunny weather but even in the winter they are invaluable for drivers and certainly take the strain out of driving into that low, full on sunlight. Corporate events and training days often require some distinctive method of marking out the delegates and a baseball cap is a very acceptable way of doing this. Many Primary Schools are currently embarking on Thinking Skills courses and need hats for children in these 6 basic colours, red, black, white, yellow, green and blue. We have a children’s size cotton twill baseball caps on our website which is very inexpensive, samples can be supplied on request, just email us at sales@juon.co.uk

Printed promotional mugs.
In our house on Sunday evening we watch the Antiques Road Show; it is almost a ritual for us and marks the end of the weekend. Of all the items that are presented for interrogation, for many reasons, I am always most interested in the ceramics and I have often wondered if, in future times, a piece with an advertising slogan will bring gasps of amazement at the price it could fetch at auction. I noticed in today’s edition of The Times that a Clarice Cliff charger bought for £1 at a car boot sale brought £192.000 at Sotheby’s just recently!
One of the gasps of amazement that our range of earthenware and china should bring is the inexpensiveness of printed mugs. Printed ceramics have long been one of the best ways of bringing company details to your customers’ notice whether it is part of your in house hospitality or as a present to valued clients.
Earthenware and china mugs can be screen printed and if you require no more than 2 colours we can turn an order round within 7 working days. For photographic quality images we offer our photomugs with wrap around print. Mugs with unusual shapes are transfer printed and this takes a little longer. To see our range of mugs visit our website and for a quote email us at sales@juon.co.uk
